The Pre-Kindergarten Program

Ages: 3 to 5 years old

There are two types of Pre-Kindergarten Programs:

1) Head Start Supplemental Assistance Program (HSSAP)

  • Hours: 7:00 am to 6:00 pm

2) PA Pre- K Counts

  • Free 7:30 am to 1:30 pm
  • Aftercare available from 1:30 pm to 6:00 pm
  • Program follows the School District of Philadelphia

Broad Street Academy

  • An Exceptional Primary School
  • Grades Kindergarten to Grade 3
  • Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 8:15 am to 3:15 pm
  • 10-Month Program
  • Affordable Tuition

The Broad Street Academy offers:

  • Christian Enrichment
  • Small Classes
  • Accelerated Curriculum
  • Computers in Each Classroom
  • School Bus Transportation
  • Large Outdoor Play Area
  • Qualified Teachers
  • Before and After School Program

Porter’s Youth Development

  • An Arts-Centered Youth Program
  • Ages 5 to 17 years old
  • Monday to Friday
  • Hours: 3:15 pm to 6:00 pm
  • Year-Round Program
  • Classes Rotate Every Eight Weeks: Drama, Art, Music, Culinary, Sports, Conflict Resolution, Leadership, etc.

The Porter’s Youth Development program offers:

  • Study Skills and Academic Support
  • Computers in Each Classrooms
  • Large Outdoor Play Area
  • Qualified Teachers
  • Affordable Tuition

Early Head Start Home-Based Program

Porter’s Early Head Start (EHS) Home Visitor Program helps families provide healthy, nurturing, supportive environments for pregnant mother, infants, and toddlers.

Ways Your Partnership with a Home Visitor Can Help You and Your Family:

  • Learning new ways to make healthy changes in your home for your child and yourself
  • Finding a doctor for your child
  • Providing good nutrition for your child and yourself
  • Locating agencies that can assist your family for health, housing, education, etc.
  • Expected infants and toddler development
  • Healthy ways to discipline and set limits
  • Assistance with developmental goals for your child, such as potty training
  • Discover creative, fun ways to spend time with your child
  • Develop goals for yourself and your family, and find practical ways to achieve them
  • Learning ways to educate your child within your home to enhance your child’s learning and development

This program is available to:

  • Eligible families with income below federal guidelines
  • Pregnant women
  • Families with children ages 0 to 3 years old
